Criminal Records Search

Have you ever noticed how many forms there are to fill out for everything these days? The interesting thing is that so much of the information that is gathered on these forms is placed into different computer data bases. There are many of these computer data bases that are accessible to the general public. A great deal of information about our lives is public information. It does not take a computer expert to learn how to access information.
There are many interesting things that you can find about people simply by entering their name and date of birth into different sites. You can do a criminal records search of anyone as long as you have their name and date of birth. Once you have this information you can go on the site of the bureau of criminal apprehension for the state the person lives in and find out if thy have been convicted of a felony. If you have the person’s social security number and middle name you can do a more thorough search that would include other states as well as misdemeanor offenses. If you know of other states that the person has lived in you could repeat this procedure to complete criminal records search for that state as well. The full United States is connected through federal websites but you need to have a security clearance to access these records.
There are some people that disagree with how readily available the information in the criminal records search is, however this information is public information. Anyone can go into a courthouse and request to see the records of a court hearing, criminal or civil. All court documents and records are public information unless specified during the court proceedings. The judge does have the authority to seal records or particular documents in the records. Also most times records of juvenile offenders are sealed to everyone. Criminal records search are routinely done by employers so they can discuss any criminal background concerns with prospective employees. Many singles run background searches on people they are dating to make sure they are who they say they are and also for safety reasons. It is hard to keep criminal information hidden if you have a record it is best to be upfront about it because most likely someone is going to find out anyway. It is better to let a perspective employer know that they will find something in the check than to say nothing at all. For employment purposes you need to sign a release for a background check. This release includes your full name, date of birth, driver’s license numbers and the addresses that you have lived in for the past five years. This allows for a full check of driving and renting history as well as criminal background information.
